“Don’t even go there,” She warned him, shaking her head in disbelief. “I have to go into something that everyone approves of, lest I make my family even more of a laughing stalk,” She dramatically fell into him with a roll of her eyes.
Max caught her and looked down at her grinning. “Oh good point. Though I doubt poor Professor Longbottom could be any more unfortunate if he tried,” he said snickering before sighing and shaking his head. “Nah I jest with you, he’s alright.”
She made herself comfortable, head in his lap, grinning up at him. She absently brushed his hair from his face. “A novelist,” She turned the thought over in her head, thinking it over. “Sounds fun, hard to get started, but muggles would eat it up.”
Max nodded, staring down at her, scrunching his nose up when she brushed his hair out of his face. “And you’d have me to use as inspiration. I’d make the perfect hero, as we found out in my bedtime story. Muggles would love a bit o’ Max Julius.”
“You say it like you’re surprised,” She mumbled back, though she didn’t protest any further, meekly letting him pull her to him. “I’m not going to forget you, either, you know,” Suzy smiled slightly to herself, not sure if he could see her expression or not.
“Maybe I am,” he grinned. “I was under the impression this relationship was onesided.” He snickered. “I can’t believe you told me a bedtime story. That was very sweet of you,” he cooed, patting her head before letting her sit up. “And you better not forget me. I give you the job of spreading my name around the school. Make me legendary. Even more than I am now.”
“Thank you, Max, I feel so loved.” Suzy replied dryly, stretching her arms over her head luxuriously before giving him a rather smug smile. She had hoped he would forget the story time moment, but obviously he hadn’t. “I will honor that job until I graduate, whereas I will pass it on to someone else.” She promised with a small smile.
“And so you should, my dear,” he said, smiling sweetly at her. “You could go into that professionally y’know. Story writing. Except maybe change the characters names round so you don’t get sued for using real people.” He smirked. “Ahh, wonderful. Knew I could count on you. And everywhere I go I will tell folk of your marvelous story telling skills.”

Dom looked up at him, but didn’t move away. She felt like she should, since her hugging him was probably making him uncomfortable, but she just couldn’t bring herself to let go. Maybe she did miss him so much more than she’s ever said aloud or even admitted silently to herself. It’s always been pride before anything else for this Weasley. It irked her. Dom cleared her throat and leaned her head back on his shoulder. “You accept my apology, then, Mister Poo?” she asked with just a tiny bit of irony lacing her voice. “Or do you still hate me?” She pouted, lifting her head for him to see and hopefully give in to. Give in to do what, exactly, Dom didn’t know either.
Max looked down at her, making eye contact with her in the hug only made him feel even more awkward hugging her. He wanted to pull her close, kiss her lips, run his hand through her hair. But he couldn’t… could he? Dom was never an easy person to read but if he had to take a guess he’d say she still liked him… a bit anyway. Or she wouldn’t have taken up his offer to meet up again with him, or she might have dated Ellridge. He leaned in slightly, staring at her lips before coming to his senses and pulling back, almost waking up out of a strange daze. “I accept it your apology,” he said with a dramatic sigh, chuckling at the nickname she was still using for him which she’d come up with on their first encounter. “I could never hate you,” he said honestly, ruffling her hair a little roughly.
